ENTREPRENEURIAL ENVIRONMENT REGARDING THE RESILIENCE OF REGIONS

Abstract

The supplier – customer chain can be referred to as a basic “building block” of the entrepreneurial environment. Such chains exist in the particular branches, which were illustrated in the paper before and after the crises by means of the indicator concerning the number of employees, with an emphasis towards the two regions: Košice and Prešov. The indicator shads a light on resilience of the two east Slovakia`s regions and their significant branches regarding the global financial crisis 2008-2010. While the breeding ground of the branch are entrepreneurs and their activities (innovative one as well). Consequently the same indicator was used for deeper research on the shocks sensitivity of the regions, while the search was broaden for all regions of Slovak Republic, but excluding the branch variable. In a conclusion there is a brief opinion on the position of entrepreneur regarding the resilience of regions.

Keywords: labor market, business, shocks, regions, branches, resilience of region.

PERFORMANCE OF PROCESSES FROM THE ASPECT OF QUALITY MANAGEMENT

Abstract

The contemporary quality management system is based on process-wise attitude, whose importance is growing steadily, mostly due to permanent changes resulting in continuous improvement of the processes. Efficient course of the company’s processes is a tool that keeps and strenghtens the company position in the market. The quality of the company’s processes and their efficient configuration are influencing not only the costs, but also the sales and profit amounts due to high-quality service for the customer.  In the following article, the attention is aimed to the issue of the impact of the process costs on the quality. Within the process itself, we are neither dealing with its analysis from the technical point of view, nor we will analyze the priority levels of the processes as far as the production concerns. Instead, we will aim our attention to the analysis of the individual company’s outputs and to their impact on the efficiency of the process under investigation, i.e. to the process measurable outputs and/or the process economy. Thus the purpose is the process analysis in connection to the product and its added value generation. The process analysis was carried out at the workshops level, and – as far as its methodology concerns – at the entity level.

Key words: quality, process, measurement of efficiency, costs, effective,

EDUCATION – MONEY SHOULD BE BACKED BY GOLD, A UNIVERSITY DEGREE SHOULD BE BACKED BY KNOWLEDGE

Abstract

Our work gives us our everyday bread therefore we still believe that education should focus mainly on teaching us how to master our jobs and all necessary procedures, technologies and tools on the state-of-the-art level. We do not mean that knowledge of other kind is useless. There are many different professions and modern people deem general intelligence important too. We all need to broaden our horizons and expand our knowledge from other fields. For example, technicians should know a lot about psychology of work. Similarly, psychologists should understand the work of technicians and develop their skills to be able to use modern technologies in the cognitive process. This obviously includes also the ability to use equipment necessary for improving the quality and precision of laboratory results and clinical practice itself. Education is a general term for educational system and adult education, upbringing and education, tuition and training, teaching and out-of-school education, pedagogy and andragogy.  Our study deals with relations among curricula, requirements of practice and the system of sciences. We pay attention also to pedagogical and didactical viewpoints and we analyse them within the context of economy. The aim of the paper is to clarify some of the aspects of relations between economic needs of companies and the discrepancies between these needs and real outcomes of the current educational system in our geopolitical space.
